Rally for Roma, not Bill C-31

Rally for Roma, not Bill C-31.

Saturday, April 28

Yonge and Dundas Square, Toronto

2:00 – 4:00 pm

Hate Does Kill! Rally for Roma, not Bill C-31

Stand up in solidarity with Canada’s Roma on Saturday April 28 (2:00 – 4:00) at Yonge and Dundas Square. We want to send a message to our leaders, “Canada: Don’t Abandon the Roma in UNSAFE countries!”

We are hoping to build public awareness among Canadians, and to support the Roma community in Canada that will greatly suffer from the new federal law, Bill C-31. This new law will create a designated “safe country” list, which will essentially close the door on all Roma seeking asylum from any EU country.

As a community based event, there will be cultural music, encouraging speeches from community, human rights activists, and church leaders. It will be a very positive atmosphere with a social justice message promoting human rights, and discouraging racially motivated violence and hate crimes, which cripple the Roma in Europe.

We really need everyone’s help to make April 28th a huge success. Please, bring signs, banners, and instruments! Invite everyone you know who cares about human rights and social justice!
