Czech teachers to receive new manual on Romani culture | Prague Monitor

Prague, March 14 CTK – Czech teachers at elementary schools will receive a new manual on Romani history and culture, published by the Romea association and Brnos Masaryk University with EU financial support, that is to improve multicultural education.

Its authors say it is the first methodological handbook of this kind in the Czech Republic.The brochure on the use of history and literature of Roma in the education of pupils from the 5th to 9th grades can be downloaded on the Internet for free.

Teachers will learn in the book how to incorporate Romani writers in the Czech language and literature lessons and how to use the example of the Romani Holocaust to explain the World War Two period, for instance.
